SHOW PREVIEW >

Manufacturing excellence & Brexit readiness

Education will form a cornerstone of this year’s Automechanika Birmingham experience...

This year’s Automechanika Birmingham will, as you’d expect, be covering all the big issues currently facing the automotive industry (of which there are many) not least through its in depth seminar and forum sessions.

By the time the show comes around in early June, the UK was supposed to have left the European Union, but with seemingly everything up in the air (still), Automechanika Birmingham has a Brexit Readiness Programme in place with the SMMT (Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders). The SMMT has assembled expert advisors for the purpose of providing guidance and assistance to members both pre- and post-Brexit, and will be on hand to answer questions and offer advice at Automechanika Birmingham.

Expert advisors, including Grant Thornton, Gowling WLG, PwC and Squire Patton Boggs, will be present on the SMMT stand and will be providing a series of seminar sessions within the Vehicle Production Seminar Programme for visitors.

The Industry Forum Sessions will also tap into the broader topics, such as operational excellence in manufacturing. This session will give attendees the general context around manufacturing operations and the principles which underpin its improvement such as Lean, TPM and Six Sigma. Each principle will be expanded on in detail to give delegates a greater understanding of when to apply them and give a focus not just on making improvements but also sustaining it.

Other top picks from the line-up include sessions discussing the fundamentals of supply chain management. Find out more here...
