Creating new construction

possibilities for safety

critical applications

Innovative LIEBIG anchoring technology from EJOT is setting new boundaries for construction approaches which use mechanical fixings in safety critical concrete applications.

At the forefront of these developments for decades, the LIEBIG® brand has been part of the EJOT portfolio since 2017. Synonymous with quality, performance and ease of installation, it is a brand that has gained respect from specifiers and contractors alike.

In recent years, EJOT has added value to an already renowned global brand through its technical expertise and support across the broader construction sector, being one of a handful of manufacturing members of the Construction Fixings Association (CFA). This has always enabled EJOT to support designers, contractors and distributors to adopt best practice in critical applications, providing detailed guidance and certified training in the pursuit of the highest construction standards.

Tailor-made anchoring

solutions to meet diverse

challenges

EJOT® is driving change with its LIEBIG® range is because, unlike any other major anchoring systems manufacturer, it is able to provide bespoke solutions with ease.

Every LIEBIG® anchor is designed on a modular principle, which means products can be manufactured to whatever lengths the application requires, regardless of smaller quantity requirements and maintaining minimal lead times.

Typically LIEBIG’s market-leading anchor ranges, including Superplus BLS and Ultraplus, are available in standard sizes, of course, providing designers with simplicity for routine applications. But where an application would benefit from a different anchor length, to accommodate greater embedment depths or to hold down much thicker fixtures, any of the available diameters can be modified accordingly. And because LIEBIG® anchors are manufactured using higher grade materials, higher tensile and shear loads are easily achieved.

The Superplus BLS is the go-to heavy-duty anchor for many designers, which is reflected in the number of major UK projects that utilise the product, including attaching thirty large concrete silos at the HS2 construction hub for the Old Oak Common station in west London. It requires no special drill bits, no maximum hole depth and no special setting tools, making installation straightforward and reduced risk of workmanship-related issues.

For the most demanding applications, the Ultraplus has established itself as an unrivalled choice thanks to its performance capabilities. It extends associated performance benefits beyond any other mechanical anchor, with unique features including a mechanical spring-loaded anchor setting, reverse undercut mechanism and built-in isolation between fixture and anchor.

Supported by EJOT’s digital

tools for easy dimensioning

Achieving an anchoring specification that meets the application goals is assisted by EJOT through its free software tools - EJOT ANCHOR FIX 2.0 and TRUSTFIX. These calculation software programs help structural engineers, specifiers, engineers and technicians to integrate Superplus BLS, Ultraplus or any of the products in the range, with ease.

They can be used with confidence alongside designers’ own hand calculations, other software programs and technical guides to aid designs and verify performance capabilities.

Now UK-made for

a global market

Helping to facilitate the bespoke approach has been the recent relocation of the manufacturing of many LIEBIG® products from Finland to the UK. Production equipment was transferred to EJOT’s UK base near Leeds at the start of 2022 and the new LIEBIG® manufacturing centre is now fully operational in its new home.

This move was part of EJOT’s latest plans to expand UK manufacturing for its construction and industrial fasteners, following a doubling of the size of its Yorkshire plant in 2021. Creating a centre of excellence for anchor production, this facility is serving customers in the UK and EJOT’s businesses around the world – an export success story for Yorkshire assembled products which are now being used in projects as far afield Australia and South Korea.
