Sustainable Product of the Year

Beck – LIGNOLOC

Beck unveiled its wooden collated nail system a number of years ago and has this year developed the sustainable range again, this time adding headed nails to the range, developed for façade construction in particular. These efficient metal-free nails are made with renewable beech wood, combining performance and sustainability. They are ideal for the increasing number of construction projects that want to use entirely sustainable or recyclable fastening systems.

Community Partnership of the Year

Tite-Fix – Screw-Tite & Men’s Sheds Association

Screw-Tite is the official screw of UK Men’s Sheds Association, supporting the association as it provides spaces for men and women, tackling mental health issues such as depression and anxiety. Now with over 600 Men’s Sheds in the UK, communities can come together to work on diverse projects like fixing park benches and repairing bikes. This award winner was selected by the Torque-Expo team.

Video of the Year

Metabo – metaBOX

Metabo’s robust system case is suitable for the construction site and workshop alike, as well as for transporting tools and consumables. An irreverent but effective promotional video has been viewed tens of thousands of times on YouTube and carries a short message to end users to ‘sort their stuff out’.

Apprentice of the Year

Gesipa UK – Jonathan Watson

After starting at Gesipa UK’s Keithley HQ, Watson soon applied to its apprenticeship programme, where he combines study at Keighley College with working on the job. His day-to-day role includes carrying out servicing and repairs on tools. Jonathan also assists with tool maintenance training sessions both at Gesipa UK and also on the road and has also taken part in Bradford Manufacturing Week, including local school outreach.

The award is also testament to Gesipa UK’s commitment to develop young talent in the engineering and fastener industry.
