GOEBEL > Structural Blind Rivets
The GOEBEL Group has a variety of structural rivets in their portfolio, depending on the application the customer can chose according to their needs. All rivets are available from stock in aluminium, steel and stainless steel.
The rivets can be categorised by their locking head styles. For instance, the “GO-BULB / GO-INOX” have a bulging locking head, which is ideal for thin sheet metal applications and guarantees a safe fastening. Another bulging type of rivet is the “PREMIUM” which is known for its great shear and tensile values. In addition to the large locking head, the knurled mandrel creates a secure connection, which can be splash-proof if the borehole is prepared well.
The other kind of locking head for structural blind rivets is the conical shaped locking head. In this style, the “GO-LOCK” has an extensive grip range and copes well with borehole tolerances. The rest mandrel locking happens within the “GO-LOCK” and creates a safe fastening. The second type of conical locking head is the “M-LOCK”. This structural blind rivet also fills out any borehole tolerances. The rest mandrel locking is created mechanically inside of the rivet body which is visible from the outside. Only a special mouthpiece is required for setting the “M-LOCK”.
GOEBEL also have various kinds of setting tools for blind rivets and blind rivet nuts, including hand tools, cordless battery tools and pneumatic setting tools. The sales team would be happy to advise customers on the right structural rivets and tooling for their requirements.
Owlet-Jatton > Improving Efficiencies with JRP Battery Tooling
When Owlett-Jaton launched the riveting brand Jaton Riveting Products (JRP), the company strived for a range of high-quality products that manufacturers could rely upon and achieve improved operational efficiencies. The latest range extension of battery tooling has far outweighed those objectives.
The JRP battery tooling range can help to speed up production in multiple industry sectors.
A modular utility room manufacturer in the southwest is the latest company to report on the impact of swapping their existing riveting tooling to JRP. The manufacturer has recently consolidated three manufacturing sites into a new factory to streamline production and increase their productivity fourfold within a six-month time frame. They were looking for riveting tooling that would support their increase in production, following a move away from pneumatic tooling which required them to drag air hoses through modular section products. The tools had to be fast, reliable, and use a sustainable green energy system to meet the increased production demands.
Supplied through an Owlett-Jaton distributor, the JRP tools met those requirements and gave the customer easy access to all fastening installations. Having initially purchased a small number to test the products, the manufacturer was confident that the switch would support their objectives and has gone on to place a second, larger order.
The JRP RB66 battery rivet tool was selected to cover the main usage of 4.0mm aluminium/steel rivets but also with the added advantage that it can also be used on the low usage 6.0mm aluminium/steel rivets, with a simple change of nosepiece.
The JRP NB127A battery rivet nut tool was selected to cover a spectrum of flat and countersunk head blind threaded inserts ranging from M4 to M10 in steel and stainless steel. The NB127A offers a capacity of M3-M12, allowing a single model to be re-set and moved to different manufacturing cells to meet production demand.
The LED display settings on the tools have allowed the manufacturer to set a tool up for each of the product types. By marking the unique serial number of each tool and setting it accordingly for the applications and thread diameters they were to be used on, they can ensure the tools are used correctly and optimise battery and shelf life.
As the tool also has a locking feature for the LED settings, it gives operators, supervisors and management alike a clear indicator if the lock has been overridden by chance and the settings have been tampered with.
The uniform battery system for the JRP range allows the batteries to be used on all tool models, prolonging battery life, and reducing recharge costs and tooling inventory.
JRP products are available for free next-day delivery, with low minimum order levels, across the majority of the UK mainland.
